Microsoft released KB5072653, an out-of-band “ESU Licensing Preparation Package” to address 0x800f0922 errors preventing the November 2025 Extended Security Update (KB5068781) from installing on Windows 10 22H2 devices; devices must have the October 2025 cumulative update (KB5066791) and be restarted before re-running Windows Update, and Microsoft will publish an updated Scan Cab for WSUS/SCCM compliance checks.
