France's Grand Palais discloses cyberattack during Olympic games

The Grand Palais Rmn experienced a ransomware attack on 3 August 2024 that caused operational disruptions (notably bookstore and boutique systems) and prompted system shutdowns to limit spread. A ransom note demanded cryptocurrency and threatened to leak data; ANSSI, CNIL and the Ministry of Culture were notified and ANSSI is assisting remediation. Preliminary investigations report no confirmed data exfiltration, and reporting suggests the incident may have originated from a collaborator account compromised by infostealer malware.
