Five charged for cyber schemes to benefit North Korea's weapons program

The U.S. Department of Justice charged five individuals for a North Korea-coordinated cyber-crime campaign that used identity theft, "laptop farms," proxy identities, and an online platform (UpWorkSell) to place North Korean IT workers into U.S. remote jobs, generating at least $6.8 million and affecting over 300 companies; two suspects were arrested, the domain was seized, and the State Department offered rewards for information.
