Microsoft: Windows Recall now can be removed, is more secure

Microsoft announced enhanced security and privacy measures for its AI-powered Windows Recall feature, making it strictly opt-in, removable, and protected by Windows Hello authentication, TPM-backed encryption, and VBS enclaves. The update adds sensitive information filtering, user controls to exclude apps/websites and manage snapshots, local-only storage, and anti-abuse measures like rate limiting and anti-hammering. Microsoft emphasizes user control, isolation of services, and intentional data use, with Recall initially rolling out to Windows Insiders on Copilot+ PCs.
