Yanluowang ransomware access broker gets 81 months in prison

Aleksey Olegovich Volkov, a Russian national, pleaded guilty to acting as an initial access broker for the Yanluowang ransomware operation after breaching at least eight U.S. companies between July 2021 and November 2022 and selling access to affiliates who deployed ransomware and demanded large ransoms; FBI seizures of chat logs, stolen data, credentials, and crypto records linked him to the attacks, and he was extradited, sentenced to 81 months in prison, and ordered to pay over $9.16M in restitution.
