Microsoft acknowledged a false-positive bug in its Exchange Online and Teams anti-spam models that mislabeled URLs—especially URLs contained within other URLs—as malicious, causing email quarantines and blocked links beginning September 5. Engineers have partially remediated the issue by preventing unnecessary quarantines, unblocking over 6,000 URLs, and replaying impacted messages while continuing root-cause analysis and addressing residual impact, following similar email filtering misclassifications observed earlier this year.
