DHS employees jailed for stealing data of 200K U.S. govt workers

Three former DHS employees pleaded guilty to conspiring to steal proprietary U.S. government software and databases — including a database exposing PII for about 200,000 federal employees — and shared the stolen assets with India-based developers to create a competing commercial product; sentences were handed down and one defendant attempted to delete evidence during the investigation.
