Microsoft resolved a known issue where the Windows Update Standalone Installer (WUSA) could fail with ERROR_BAD_PATHNAME when installing updates from network shares containing multiple .msu files on Windows 11 (24H2/25H2) and Windows Server 2025; mitigations included a Known Issue Rollback and final fixes in the June 2026 cumulative updates (KB5079391, KB5094125), and Microsoft recommended workarounds such as saving .msu files locally and waiting 15 minutes after reboot before checking Update History.
