Microsoft states that the September 10, 2024 Patch Tuesday update (KB5043050) fixes a known Windows Server 2019 issue causing boot problems, freezes, high CPU, and unresponsiveness introduced by the August 2024 KB5041578 update—especially when antivirus scans the catroot2 folder. Organizations unable to deploy KB5043050 can use a Known Issue Rollback Group Policy as a workaround and should reboot affected servers to apply the policy.
