Police busts credit card fraud rings with 4.3 million victims

International authorities carried out "Operation Chargeback," dismantling three organized credit-card fraud and money-laundering networks that used compromised payment infrastructure and shell companies to create about 19 million fake online subscriptions between 2016–2021; losses are estimated at least €300 million, affecting millions of cardholders across 193 countries, and the action resulted in multiple arrests and asset seizures across several countries.
