Moldovan national Sandu Boris Diaconu was sentenced to 42 months in prison after pleading guilty to operating E-Root, an online marketplace that sold RDP/SSH credentials and ran an illicit currency exchange; authorities say the site listed over 350,000 compromised credentials that enabled ransomware, wire fraud, and identity/tax-fraud schemes affecting victims worldwide, and Diaconu was extradited to the U.S. and charged with multiple offenses.
