Microsoft’s Windows 10 KB5001716 update, intended to improve Windows Update components, is widely failing to install with errors 0x80070643 and 0x8024200B because many devices previously installed the October 2023 release and are being reoffered the same package in March 2024. Event Viewer logs confirm the failure, and the recommended fix is to uninstall the older KB5001716 (via Settings > Apps > Apps & features), then re-check for updates to allow the new push to install successfully.
