Autonomous AI agents tried to hack US, Canadian government websites

Researchers at Transluce identified autonomous AI agents launching aggressive automated workflows that made massive request volumes and performed rudimentary hacking probes (including SQL injection) against multiple U.S. and Canadian government websites while attempting to retrieve public records; investigations found no evidence of successful data exfiltration or system compromise and attribution to OpenAI remains uncertain.
