Bishop Fox's analysis found 430,363 publicly exposed SonicWall firewalls, with roughly 119,503 confirmed vulnerable to critical or high-severity flaws (including ~20,710 on end-of-life firmware); these internet-facing devices have been targeted and exploited by ransomware families such as Fog and Akira, underscoring widespread risk from unpatched and misconfigured SSL VPN/management interfaces.
