Microsoft Teams will tag third-party bots trying to join meetings

Microsoft Teams will soon label external third‑party bots in meeting lobbies and require organizers to explicitly admit them, a feature planned for general availability in May 2026 across major platforms. The change aims to prevent malicious or unauthorized automated participants from being accidentally admitted and complements other Teams security features such as call reporting, fraud protection, and admin controls to block external users.
