Microsoft confirmed a known issue causing Classic Outlook and Microsoft 365 apps to crash shortly after launch on Windows Server 2016 and 2019 following an Office update that integrated React Native. The impacted build is Version 2412 (Build 18324.20168), and Microsoft is mitigating by reverting affected systems to Version 2411 (Build 18227.20162); admins can manually roll back using Click-to-Run commands and temporarily disable updates while a Windows Server 2019-specific mitigation is evaluated. The article also notes recent, separate Microsoft 365 disruptions, including an MFA outage, “Product Deactivated” errors, and a December outage affecting web apps and the admin center.
