Ticketmaster sends notifications about recent massive data breach

Ticketmaster confirmed an unauthorized party accessed a third-party Snowflake cloud database between April 2 and May 18, 2024; stolen data (reported as ~1.3TB / 560 million records) including names, contact details, addresses, hashed card details, and payment information was posted for sale by the ShinyHunters actor. The incident is tied to a wider pattern of Snowflake account compromises (attributed to UNC5537) that exploited stolen credentials and accounts without multi-factor authentication, and the stolen data is actively being sold on hacking forums.
