Ford investgates alleged breach following customer data leak

Ford is investigating claims that threat actors ('EnergyWeaponUser' and allegedly 'IntelBroker') posted 44,000 customer records on a hacking forum containing names, locations, purchase details and dealer information. The dataset was offered to forum members for a small fee; while the data contains PII that could enable phishing, Ford later stated the incident involved a third-party supplier and publicly available dealer addresses and that there was no breach of Ford systems.
