Crypto mixer founders sent to prison for laundering over $237 million

The founders of the Samourai Wallet crypto-mixing service pleaded guilty and were sentenced for operating a money-laundering service that used Whirlpool (coin mixing) and Ricochet (transaction hops) to obscure Bitcoin transactions; authorities say the service processed over $2 billion in illicit funds, yielded roughly $4.5 million in fees to the operators, and resulted in forfeiture of $237,832,360.55, seizure of servers and domains, and removal of the mobile app.
