Nidec confirmed a ransomware-related data breach affecting its Precision division in Vietnam after attackers used stolen VPN credentials to access a server and exfiltrate 50,694 files; the company says files were leaked on the dark web by groups claiming responsibility (8BASE and Everest), no encryption occurred, the entry point has been closed and remediation completed, and the leaked information could fuel targeted phishing against employees and partners.
