Capital Health attack claimed by LockBit ransomware, risk of data leak

LockBit claims responsibility for a November 2023 attack on Capital Health, alleging the theft of approximately seven terabytes (over 10 million files) of sensitive medical data and listing the organization on its data leak site while threatening to publish the stolen records; LockBit says it purposely did not encrypt systems to avoid disrupting patient care and Capital Health is investigating whether data were exfiltrated.
