Microsoft fixes Outlook bug causing crashes when opening emails

Microsoft addressed a non-security bug that caused classic Outlook to crash when opening or composing emails, releasing fixes across Current Channel Preview, Monthly Enterprise, Semi-Annual Enterprise, Outlook 2021, and Outlook 2024, with Outlook 2016 and 2019 updates scheduled for July 1 and July 8. As a temporary workaround, affected users can create the FORMS2 folder at C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FORMS2. The report also notes related recent fixes, including a folder flicker issue in version 2505 (with workarounds to revert to 2504 or disable Download Shared Folders), crashes in Outlook LTSC 2019 when opening certain emails, and earlier stability fixes impacting classic Outlook on Windows Server.
