U.S. charges Iranian for hacks on defense orgs, offers $10M for info

The U.S. Department of Justice charged Iranian national Alireza Shafie Nasab for a multi-year (2016–2021) cyber-espionage campaign that used spear-phishing, social engineering, and malware to compromise over 200,000 devices across U.S. government agencies, defense contractors, and private firms; authorities allege he operated under the cover of an Iranian IT company, procured infrastructure using stolen identities, faces federal fraud and identity-theft charges, and the State Department is offering up to $10 million for information leading to his capture.
