Discord announced that it has deployed end-to-end encryption (E2EE) by default for voice and video calls across supported platforms using the open-source DAVE protocol, extending protection to DMs, group DMs, voice channels, and Go Live streams while excluding stage channels; the rollout completes engineering work to support low-latency, cross-platform compatibility and Mozilla collaboration for Firefox issues, and Discord states there are no current plans to extend DAVE to text messages.
