On Feb 9–12, 2024 attackers used a compromised private key to mint and steal huge volumes of PLA tokens from the PlayDapp platform (initial 200M then ~1.59B more), causing a major market impact and prompting PlayDapp to migrate funds, suspend trading and request exchanges freeze wallets; laundering activity was observed and attribution remains unconfirmed though some analysts cited Lazarus-like hallmarks.
