Medtronic notifies customers impacted by ShinyHunters data breach

Medtronic reported unusual activity on corporate IT systems between April 13–19, 2026; the ShinyHunters extortion group claimed to have stolen roughly nine million records containing full names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and health-related information. Medtronic is notifying affected customers, offering 24 months of credit monitoring and identity theft protection, asserts medical devices were not impacted, and states the stolen data was not published online though the attacker threatened to release it.
