Windows Server 2025 released—here are the new features

Microsoft announced Windows Server 2025 general availability, detailing major improvements in virtualization, storage performance (notably NVMe), Active Directory capabilities, security features like Credential Guard by default and SMB over QUIC hardening, and management tools such as DTrace and dMSA. The release also includes VBS enclaves and integrated LAPS for stronger credential protection. Microsoft flagged known issues affecting some deployments, including BSOD on systems with more than 256 logical processors, iSCSI-related boot device errors, and language display quirks during installation, with support timelines extending to 2034.
