Škoda warns of customer data breach after online shop hack

Škoda Auto disclosed that its online shop was breached after attackers exploited a vulnerability in the e-commerce platform, allowing unauthorized access to an undisclosed number of customers' personal information — including names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, order details, and login credentials (email and hashed passwords). The company says full payment card details were not stored on the compromised systems, has remediated the vulnerability, engaged a forensic team, notified authorities, and warned customers to be vigilant for phishing or credential-reuse attacks.
