Romanian gets 5 years in prison for hacking Oregon govt network

A Romanian national pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 56 months in U.S. federal prison for unauthorized access to the Oregon Department of Emergency Management network in June 2021, selling that access and personally identifiable information (names, emails, dates of birth, passport numbers) to buyers; he also sold access to nearly a dozen other U.S. victims, producing at least $250,000 in losses, and was arrested in Romania and extradited to the U.S.
