Microsoft announced the Windows 11 2024 Update (version 24H2), a full OS swap rolling out in phases to eligible devices and enterprise channels, adding AI features (revamped Recall with privacy controls, natural language search, image super-resolution and generative edits in Paint, on-device Click to Do), platform/UX improvements (HDR backgrounds, Energy Saver, Bluetooth LE Audio hearing aid support, Wi‑Fi 7, taskbar/File Explorer/Settings updates), and developer changes (Sudo for Windows, Rust in the kernel). The release includes new LTSC editions, may place safeguard holds on incompatible devices, and removes Cortana, Tips, and WordPad.
