Japanese beer giant Asahi says data breach hit 1.5 million people

Asahi Group Holdings disclosed a September ransomware attack attributed to the Qilin group that led to the theft of up to 1.9 million individuals' personal data (names, genders, physical and email addresses, phone numbers, and some employee DOBs). The attack forced suspension of production and shipping operations, the attackers published samples and claimed 27GB of exfiltrated files, and Asahi is restoring systems, notifying affected parties, and implementing preventive security measures.
