AT&T rolls out "Wireless Lock" feature to block SIM swap attacks

AT&T has rolled out a new Wireless Lock feature that lets customers lock their numbers to block SIM swaps, port-outs, and key account changes until the lock is turned off; business accounts gain additional controls such as exempting specific lines and restricting certain updates. This move addresses ongoing SIM swap and eSIM hijacking campaigns, employee bribery attempts, and follows stricter FCC identity verification rules, though similar protections have been available from other carriers like Verizon for years.
