Iranian hackers charged for ‘hack-and-leak’ plot to influence election

U.S. authorities unsealed an indictment accusing three IRGC-affiliated Iranian hackers of a multi-year spearphishing and social-engineering 'hack-and-leak' campaign that compromised personal accounts of current and former U.S. officials, individuals linked to political campaigns, and media, stealing documents and emails and attempting to leak them to influence the 2024 U.S. presidential election; the actors have been sanctioned and a reward offered for information.
