Microsoft fixed a GIF outage in the Windows 11 Emoji Panel that occurred when Tenor retired its API on June 30, 2026, by switching the GIF provider to GIPHY in preview update KB5095093 (available via Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog) for 24H2/25H2/26H1; Microsoft is still working on fixes for 23H2 and Windows Server 2025. The optional preview update also includes Point-in-Time Restore and other bug fixes.
