Proton launched Docs in Proton Drive, a free and open-source end-to-end encrypted web-based document editor with real-time collaboration, rich text, markdown, code blocks, checklists, image embedding, and .docx support, offering a 5GB free tier. Built to be a privacy-first alternative to tools like Google Docs, it integrates with the Proton ecosystem, requires Proton accounts for collaborators, and was accelerated by Proton’s acquisition of Standard Notes.
