Microsoft addressed Windows Server 2025 reliability issues—failed installs/upgrades, BSODs, and lengthy boots—on systems with over 256 logical processors via the Nov 12, 2024 KB5046617 update; admins who cannot patch can temporarily limit active logical processors below 256 in UEFI. Microsoft is also investigating separate “boot device inaccessible” errors on iSCSI systems, and Windows Server 2025 is now generally available with a 180-day evaluation.
