Golden Corral restaurant chain data breach impacts 183,000 people

Golden Corral disclosed a data security incident that occurred August 11–15, 2023 in which attackers accessed systems and stole personal information for about 183,272 current and former employees and beneficiaries; the compromised data may include names, Social Security numbers, financial account information, driver’s license numbers, medical and health insurance details, and credentials. The company notified law enforcement, began sending breach notification letters in February, and is implementing additional safeguards while advising individuals to monitor for identity theft.
