Redline, Meta infostealer malware operations seized by police

The Dutch National Police, supported by international partners including the FBI and NCA, announced Operation Magnus which disrupted the Redline and Meta infostealer operations and seized their infrastructure, source code, REST APIs, panels, and a large user database of stolen credentials; authorities warn affected cybercriminals that their data and evidence are now in law enforcement hands and legal actions are pending. The report highlights that both infostealers exfiltrate browser credentials, cookies, cryptocurrency wallets and other sensitive data, were distributed via Telegram bots, share infrastructure suggesting common operators, and have resulted in hundreds of millions of stolen credentials used in downstream breaches and ransomware campaigns.
