Reports from administrators indicate that the March 2024 Windows Server updates (KB5035855 for 2016 and KB5035857 for 2022) caused an LSASS memory leak leading domain controllers to crash and reboot; Microsoft later released emergency out-of-band updates to remediate the issue. As an interim measure, admins were advised to uninstall the affected updates and hide them (e.g., using wusa /uninstall and the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter) until the fix was available.
