Chrome switching to NIST-approved ML-KEM quantum encryption

Google is transitioning Chrome’s post-quantum TLS key exchange from Kyber to the NIST-approved ML-KEM, changing the hybrid codepoint to 0x11EC (ML-KEM768+X25519) and removing Kyber to reduce handshake size and performance impact. The update will roll out in Chrome 131 on November 6, 2024 (earlier in Canary/Beta/Dev), with guidance for servers to support ML-KEM during the transition and potential future use of DNS to advertise supported algorithms.
