Vans, North Face owner says ransomware breach affects 35 million people

VF Corporation disclosed a December ransomware incident that encrypted some IT systems and exfiltrated personal data for an estimated 35.5 million consumers; the company reports no evidence that social security numbers, bank or payment card data, or consumer passwords were stolen. The attack disrupted retail and fulfillment operations, forced system outages for containment, and VF is cooperating with federal law enforcement while restoring services.
