American Express credit cards exposed in vendor data breach

American Express notified customers that a third-party merchant processor was hacked, potentially exposing some Card Members' account numbers, names, and card expiration data. American Express says its own systems were not compromised, the affected processor has not been identified publicly, and impacted customers are being notified and advised to monitor statements and enable fraud alerts.
