Google Chrome gets real-time phishing protection later this month

Google is rolling out a real-time Safe Browsing update for Chrome (and Android) that checks URLs against server-side lists to better block short-lived phishing and malware, with an expected 25% improvement in phishing prevention. The system leverages Fastly’s Oblivious HTTP relays and encrypted hash prefixes to preserve user privacy by decoupling IP addresses from URL data.
