A threat actor posted samples and attempted to sell what they claimed was an 87 million-record Temu customer database on BreachForums, including names, DOBs, addresses, phone numbers, IPs and hashed passwords; Temu conducted an investigation and denied the data originated from its systems. BleepingComputer followed up with the actor and researchers; CheckPoint Research indicated some posted records likely came from a 2021 foreup.com breach, and the actor was later banned for misrepresenting publicly available data.
