The FTC has sued Iconic Hearts Holdings (creator of the Sendit app) and its CEO, alleging the app collected personal data from children under 13 without parental consent and engaged in deceptive practices—generating fake anonymous messages, falsely promising to reveal senders for a paid “Diamond Membership,” and failing to disclose recurring billing—potentially violating COPPA, the FTC Act, and ROSCA; the complaint was referred to the DOJ and the allegations are pending in court.
