Taiwan says China's attacks on its energy sector increased tenfold

Taiwan's National Security Bureau reports a significant surge in China-linked cyber activity in 2025, with attacks across nine critical sectors and a particularly dramatic 1,000% increase against the energy sector; adversaries targeted industrial control systems, inserted malware during software upgrades, and used DDoS, AitM, phishing, and supply-chain tactics, and the activity is attributed to groups such as BlackTech, Flax Typhoon, Mustang Panda, APT41, and UNC3886.
