Kaspersky is shutting down its business in the United States

Kaspersky announced it will begin winding down its U.S. operations on July 20, 2024, and eliminate U.S.-based positions after the U.S. Treasury sanctioned 12 executives and the Department of Commerce added Kaspersky entities to the Entity List and banned sales and updates effective September 29, citing national security risks tied to potential Russian government influence. The company stated that, given these restrictions, continuing U.S. business is no longer viable.
