Microsoft will begin delivering "checkpoint cumulative updates" in late 2024 for Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11 (24H2+). These updates use smaller incremental binary differentials against the last checkpoint to reduce download size, disk usage, and installation time; they will appear as normal monthly updates with no admin action required and can be evaluated via the Windows Insider Dev Channel Preview Build 26120.1252.
