Data firm execs convicted for helping fraudsters target the elderly

Former Epsilon executives Robert Reger and David Lytle were convicted for participating in a 10‑year scheme that sold targeted consumer lists derived from Epsilon’s marketing client data to fraudsters; the lists enabled personalized prize-and-wealth scams that defrauded hundreds of thousands of Americans. Epsilon resolved corporate liability in 2021 via a $150M deferred prosecution agreement that included victim compensation, while the two individuals now face prison exposure and sentencing in 2024.
