Frontier Communications shuts down systems after cyberattack

On April 14, 2024 Frontier Communications detected a cyberattack by a likely cybercrime group that gained unauthorized access to portions of its IT environment, including some personally identifiable information; the company partially shut down affected systems to stop lateral movement, experienced outages impacting mobile apps and wholesale/operations platforms, and says it has contained the breach and is restoring core systems while working with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement.
